I can't quite believe that my first baby is going to be five.
So grown up. Making faces like a "fashioned lady" (pouting like a runway model). Singing the songs from High School Musical. And writing words without help from us.
So grown up I can't quite believe it's been five years.
I also can't quite believe that I managed to make this for the big day.
Wow, I can not believe that 12 weeks have literally flown by since Poppy was born. And what a difference 12 weeks make in how much a baby can change. She seems to have sprouted really suddenly and is now developing a little character, smiling and baby talking to us now and of course following her big sister with her eyes all the time. She has her own personal entertainer.
And the time has flown by with all the other things that have been happening around here over the past few weeks.
We've had visitors.
Mark is about to start a new job on Friday which he is both excited and nervous about. Lets go back a few weeks...after his 2 weeks paternity leave he went back to work to find out that he was being made redundant (much to do with the financial crap - excuse my french - that is all around us at the moment). He was very fortunate however to secure another job. We were a bit worried for a little while back then but everything seems to have worked out pretty well for the time being.
I have been stupidly busy with Poppy and Lexie and to top it all we have our house on the market so we've been trying to keep things "tidy" around here for viewings which is quite a task with 2 babes. We're not getting too excited yet but we do have 2 notes of interest so fingers crossed.
No crafting/sewing/knitting/drawing to speak of apart from a pirate headscarf I quickly knocked up for Lexie one Sunday morning so that she could dress up as a pirate for a show she went to see at the theater.
We've been out for a few walks and outings too.
Mostly I've been taking every day as it comes and enjoying my children. Although, I did pick up my knitting needles the other day for the first time in ohhhh, ages. I'm quite enjoying it, when I get a few minutes, just click clacking away trying to finish the blanket I started a long time ago and I have also started knitting another sweater for Poppy since she had her other boat neck on the other day and it looked great! The blanket I have decided to give to a friend who is having a baby any minute now.
I'm sorry my writing skills seem to be very stilted. The words just aren't flowing as I want them to. It may be because I have a huge store of stuff in my head that I'm trying to get out and it's just not happening because I'm trying to remember everything. Or it could be that I'm just out of practice coupled with the post natal frazzled brain. Note to self: Must blog more often so as not to blurt it all out at once!!!
Thanks again to everyone who has sent us good wishes (have I said that already?).
Back soon with some knitting photos x
