had it's day

I've persisted with Typepad for quite sometime now but somehow it always frustrates me.

It's one of the better "off the shelf" blog tools out there don't get me wrong but for my needs it isn't doing it for me anymore. I don't have the time for a start to be writing mega long posts everytime and I somehow feel like it takes me a long time to log in create a new post sort out images write what I want to write....it just takes a long time. Ok, it's not that long but when you're busy it is.

I've decided to start using tumblr for my blog and hopefully my other website info too eventually.

Tumblr is great. I love the ease of posting and the options and possibilities within it. It just seems to be what I need right now. Simple. The best thing about tumblr is that it's free whereas typepad costs a bit every month.

This blog here will remain for a while yet but I won't be updating it from now on so change your bookmarks/links if you want to keep in touch.

Thanks Typepad, you've been great but it's time to move on.

I've just listed a new print in the shop.

Expire

I made it just in time! I didn't think I was going to manage to fit this in this week but I'm so glad I did.

The IF topic this week is Expire. Now this can mean a couple of things...

1. To come to an end; terminate: My membership in the club has expired.
2. To breathe one's last breath; die: The patient expired early this morning.
3. To exhale; breathe out.

I thought I'd go for the more positive of the three since I wasn't keen on illustrating someone who has expired or the thought of things ending...so to exhale (or expire) is what I went for.

I'll be listing this as a print in the shop.

Black Shoes

I forgot that I had these. I really felt the need to not be wearing flip-flops (thongs) today because it's a bit nippy in the mornings now so I'm glad I remembered about them. The weather is definitely changing...I can feel it. It's quite nice.

Working on a few projects right now so I haven't had much chance to do anything for myself. Bit annoyed because I really wanted to start my IF adventure but that I think will have to wait another week. 2 or 3 projects will all probably be coming to a close fairly soon so then I might be able to squeeze in a few moments of illustrating.

Going to the Bowerbird Bazaar on saturday (hopefully). I'll be looking out for Fiona who will be exhibiting there. Excited! I might even wear my forgotten black shoes.

in print

oh now haven't I been a bit slack? I haven't been keeping you all informed on what I have been busy doing. Well, I've been busy but there's kind of not that much to talk about really.

Apart from my poster is in the paper this week and I am mentioned on the City of Marion Council website as the competition winner! Eek!

Oh and my new business cards arrived today which are moo-tastic but its too dark to take pictures of them just now...I'll do that tomorrow.

Poppy had her immunisations today. One in each arm and one in her left leg. Ouch. Poor little thing was so distraught but that was soon remedied by a sweet strawberry school bar that I had lurking at the bottom of my bag and later, a pink jelly bean from the lady at the chemist which resulted in me being covered in sticky goo drool. Nice.

Winning

I'm so over the moon this morning. I just got a call from The City of Marion Council to tell me that I won the Poster competition!!!

new cards coming

I ordered a few test cards from moo the other day and they look pretty good. The only thing is that shortly after I'd ordered them I got my new email address sorted out and then decided to change things on the website a little bit.

So I ordered a few new ones with updated details and design.

These are a few of the test cards which were really just for me to see what the print was like and the colours etc.

I'll take some better shots of the new ones when they arrive...these are a bit over exposed (and back to front) using the old photobooth.
