We decided to try good old Aussie Roo steaks the other night. Hmmm. not convinced. I was n't really all that keen on them and I catually surprised myself because I thought I would like it. It was a bit tough and twangy...you know a bit hard to chew. Maybe it's because we had a duff piece of steak but I'm not so sure.
The veggies were gorgeous. Roasted red peppers (capsicum), asparagus & broccolini.
I can't quite believe that my first baby is going to be five.
So grown up. Making faces like a "fashioned lady" (pouting like a runway model). Singing the songs from High School Musical. And writing words without help from us.
So grown up I can't quite believe it's been five years.
I also can't quite believe that I managed to make this for the big day.
I've never even contemplated making shortbread before. I always thought it would be too difficult to get it right but after tasting James's (end of the 2nd row) homemade shortbread on Tuesday at work I just had to give it a go.
I got stuck in last night and was very surprised at just how easy it is to make. As the title of the post says, butter, sugar and flour - that's all you need.
Ingredients
125g/4oz butter
55g/2oz caster sugar
180g/6oz plain flour
Method
Could not be easier. And they taste heavenly, really melty and delicious. Especially with a nice cup of tea.
I'm definitely going to make more before the week is out because I can't stop eating it.
