leaving for a land down under
It's been a long time coming.
We're moving.
To the other side of the world.
Adelaide in South Australia to be a bit more precise. It's been very very hard to not say anything about it until we knew we were definitely going... until it was all completely confirmed. It's going to be hard for a lot of friends and family to deal with and it will be hard for us to say goodbye to them but we firmly believe that our little family is about to embark on an amazing new adventure.
It is without doubt a step of monumental proportions for us to take but we're incredibly excited about the move. All of our belongings will be shipped this week or next and we leave on the 27th October.
We did eventually sell our house. Oh, did I even say that it was on the market? It took 6 months to sell which I believe at this time is extremely good going. I am glad to see the back of that house if I'm honest. It gave us so much grief. I always tried to make it feel like home but from the moment we moved in there it never did feel like home. I think we spent longer with a building site than we did actually living in the house. We used to call it the bad luck house. Seems we got some good luck in the end while we still lived there but I'm still not sad to leave that house.
We are now living at my mum's house until we leave which feels a little bit like deja vu and it's quite a small house so it can feel a little bit tight at times but we're managing.
So, I will be here for a few more weeks but then offline for a little while but hopefully not for too long. I'm hoping I'll be back towards the end of the year with some new work and a re-opening of my etsy shop possibly in the new year.
I'm looking forward to so many things about moving.
- Potentially meeting Tiel for the first time
- Perhaps taking the girls here
- Seeing the market and maybe even becoming a stall holder
- Regularly visiting one small room
- Visiting Melbourne for this
- Getting back into the cha cha cha groove
- Spending time here with the children
The list could go on and on.
So there hasn't really been any making here recently because it's all been packed away and will be for a while. All I have is my knitting bag with a couple of unfinished projects hiding in there. No I haven't finished either of them yet but I will, I will, I will.

That's great! Congratulations on selling the house - it sounds like it was definately for the better. And what an exciting journey you'll be on. How fun. I can't wait to hear all about life down under. =)

That is a serious adventure! You will all love it. Some friends of my brother's went out for a year as a sort of extended holiday, three years later they are still there and loving it!
Good luck!
