I still have computer access so I thought I might be able to sqeeeeeze in a few more posts before I sign off for a while.
I amazingly didn't have too much to do last night so I decided to open my knitting bag to finish off the blanket.
I was very surprised and excited to find that I had actually finished knitting all of the squares without even realising it. So now all I have to do is sew all the pieces together and then it'll be done. I couldn't face that last night, I really just wanted to knit so I continued with the little sweater for Poppy. I hope it fits her once it's finished...I did start it a long time ago. It's only 5 weeks on Tuesday until we leave for Adelaide and we have so much to do in that short time. So, I'll probably not be posting for a while folks.
I can't wait to be in Adelaide and I can't wait to get into as normal a routine as possible once we arrive. One thing we will be doing when we get there is buying a shiny new one of these.
Next weekend we'll be visiting AL & JP (long overdue!). Can't wait to see them. Lexie is excited too!
I'll say arrivederci for now and leave you with some shots from the wedding in Sorrento. See you in Adelaide!!!
We just got back from Italy where my Brother and now Sister-in-Law got married. The old horseshoe I found was for them.
The wedding was beautiful. The weather was not so beautiful. We somehow had the misfortune, after leaving rainy, cold and dull Scotland to go to a stunning part of Italy, of having some horrendous thunder storms. One of which was on the day of the wedding. When we were walking to the ceremony in the middle of Sorrento. If you've ever been there you'll know that the streets are narrow and cobbled and when wet can be very very slippy. I almost slipped over, we had to buy umbrellas and I wore my flipflops to get there in the rain but they kept falling off my feet because it was so wet.
Well the weather was disappointing but the wedding wasn't - it was lovely and the sun did shine at all the right moments which was the main thing.
It's been a long time coming.
We're moving.
To the other side of the world.
Adelaide in South Australia to be a bit more precise. It's been very very hard to not say anything about it until we knew we were definitely going... until it was all completely confirmed. It's going to be hard for a lot of friends and family to deal with and it will be hard for us to say goodbye to them but we firmly believe that our little family is about to embark on an amazing new adventure.
It is without doubt a step of monumental proportions for us to take but we're incredibly excited about the move. All of our belongings will be shipped this week or next and we leave on the 27th October.
We did eventually sell our house. Oh, did I even say that it was on the market? It took 6 months to sell which I believe at this time is extremely good going. I am glad to see the back of that house if I'm honest. It gave us so much grief. I always tried to make it feel like home but from the moment we moved in there it never did feel like home. I think we spent longer with a building site than we did actually living in the house. We used to call it the bad luck house. Seems we got some good luck in the end while we still lived there but I'm still not sad to leave that house.
We are now living at my mum's house until we leave which feels a little bit like deja vu and it's quite a small house so it can feel a little bit tight at times but we're managing.
So, I will be here for a few more weeks but then offline for a little while but hopefully not for too long. I'm hoping I'll be back towards the end of the year with some new work and a re-opening of my etsy shop possibly in the new year.
I'm looking forward to so many things about moving.
The list could go on and on.
So there hasn't really been any making here recently because it's all been packed away and will be for a while. All I have is my knitting bag with a couple of unfinished projects hiding in there. No I haven't finished either of them yet but I will, I will, I will.
