A new school

 Lexie started a new school today reason being that we found a more permanent house and the new school is so much closer than the other school she had started a couple of weeks ago. This is their last week before the summer holidays begin anyway so she's just getting to know everyone there and finding her way around the school before it really begins in the new year.

We get the keys to our new place on wednesday but we found out that our furniture will not be arriving until probably the week before christmas. So we'll be living in a pretty empty house until then. Not good but trying to stay positive about it. It'll be an interesting Christmas this year lets put it that way!

 

Trying to get into some kind of routine with things and now that Mark has a job, Lexie is in school and we're moving into the new house I should be able to knuckle down and get things going how I would like. There's so much running around to do while setting up in a new country it can be quite exhausting. Mark finishes up his work in a couple of weeks too so we're hopefully going to relax then safe in the knowledge that we don't have to move house again for a while and that he has the security of a job and that our kids are doing just fine.

Poppy is growing bigger by the day and now has nearly a full set of teeth. She's desperately trying to walk and really has a mind of her own. She's started sticking her tongue out at people, clapping her hands, waving and making an "awwwww" sound when she gives you a cuddle. So cute!

 

 
 

We have landed (3 weeks ago!)

Yes, we have been here in Adelaide now for almost 3 weeks already! It's flying by and it feels like we've been here for forever. That's not a bad thing. It's a good thing. We're really enjoying it so far and even though we seem to be hemorrhaging money and neither of us have work yet it's great.

We have sorted out most of the necessary paperwork and have even bought a car.

Lexie is in school and Mark had his first job interview yesterday so everything is moving in the right direction.

We are currently living in a short term holiday let which isn't ideal (very small with no outdoor space) but we think we may have secured a longer term rental property so fingers crossed.

It seems we have arrived in Adelaide amidst an unusually hot November...a heatwave no less and tomorrow is supposed to reach temperatures of 41 degrees. Phew. It's ok though...not as much of a shock as I thought it might be. We're all coping with it quite well.

Once we are organised and settled a bit more in our longer term property the plan is that I'm going to jump start the old illustrations and etsy shop again which I am sooo excited about.

We're visiting The Family in Bristol over the coming week before we leave this land for another.

17 days to go...and still we have no house to go to when we arrive!

A few more

I still have computer access so I thought I might be able to sqeeeeeze in a few more posts before I sign off for a while.

I  amazingly didn't have too much to do last night so I decided to open my knitting bag to finish off the blanket.

I was very surprised and excited to find that I had actually finished knitting all of the squares without even realising it.

So now all I have to do is sew all the pieces together and then it'll be done.

I couldn't face that last night, I really just wanted to knit so I continued with the little sweater for Poppy. I hope it fits her once it's finished...I did start it a long time ago.
